COATS naturally played a starring role on the autumn/winter 2017 catwalks. From the transitional nylon macs at Dior, to the quilted jackets at Stella McCartney and Chanel, there was a coat for every temperature and style. The hardest part? Picking just one to build your new season wardrobe around.
Every season, we see the reinvention of the coat. While last year designers focused on military style jackets and capes, for autumn/winter 2017, key designer houses like Balenciaga, Céline and Proenza Schouler focused on six key styles – trenches, puffers (still going strong), shearling, vinyl, faux fur (a classic) and ski chic jackets.
Chic and functional clothing will always be something we can get on board with, so we were glad to see designers showing outdoor-friendly and ski chic outerwear in their autumn winter collections.
